Notice Regarding Temporary Suspension of Mail to the United States|Due to Customs and Regulatory Changes

Temporary Suspension of Mail to the United States Due to Changes in U.S. Customs and Regulations

On July 30, 2025, the U.S. government issued an executive order titled "Suspension of Duty-Free Treatment (De Minimis) for All Countries" regarding mail addressed to the United States.

This executive order suspends the duty-free treatment of mail containing goods imported for consumption (taxable mail) as of August 29 of this year, and customs duties will be imposed.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced new guidelines regarding the elimination of de minimis on August 15, 2025, requiring carriers to pay customs bonds and prepare customs declarations.
However, the specific procedures that carriers and postal entities in various countries should implement are unclear, creating an extremely difficult operational situation.

Therefore, starting from August 27, 2025 (Wednesday), we will temporarily suspend the acceptance of mail to the United States containing the following items, similar to other postal entities in various countries.

  • Gifts between individuals with a value exceeding 100 US dollars
  • Products intended for consumption
